Superstorm Sandy Tax Exemption

NYS has recently enacted legislation that extends the deadline to apply for a tax exemption for renovations or reconstruction of residential properties effected by Superstorm Sandy.

The deadline was extended by two years to March 1, 20024.

Though Superstorm Sandy wrecked its devastation on Long Island almost a decade ago many Long Islanders are still in the process of repairing or renovating their homes.  Numerous issues have effected those rebuilding efforts for many. Those efforts were only complicated by the COVID pandemic and supply chain issues.  The extended deadline will be of significant benefit to many Long Islander.

To apply use NYS tax form RP-5850
